Two people dead after separate vehicle accidents in Northland

Two people have died in separate vehicle accidents in Northland this afternoon.

Police say a man in his 30s died after he crashed the motor scooter he was riding in Russell.

The crash occurred on Russell Whakapara Road at about 5.45pm.

In a separate incident earlier, a person died in an accident on Whareora Rd in Whangārei.

Police say a person is believed to have "fallen from a vehicle" and died at the scene. Police were alerted to the accident just before 4pm.

At the top of the South Island a 25-year-old woman died in a crash at Stoke in the early hours of this morning. Two other people were seriously injured in the crash.
