The victims of the light plane crash in Raglan on Monday, December 17 have been named.
The two men killed in the crash were 64-year-old Peter Cree from Marlborough and 33-year-old Louey Sandlant from Tasman, police say in a statement.
The pair died when their plane went down near the shoreline of Raglan Harbour, close to the local airfield.
The Civil Aviation Authority told 1 NEWS it was a Van’s RV-4 light plane which crashed.
Police say they are continuing to work with the Civil Aviation Authority to determine the cause of the crash.
Police have asked anyone who many have seen the small yellow aircraft approaching Raglan on the afternoon to contact Detective Sergeant Rene Rakete from Huntly Police on (07) 828 7560.
