Person dies after falling from vehicle on Whangārei road

A person has died after falling from a vehicle in Whāngarei this afternoon.

Police say they were called to the scene at Whareora Road just before 4pm.

A person is believed to have "fallen from a vehicle" and died at the scene.

Whareora Road is currently closed between Clapham Road and Abbey Caves Road.

The Serious Crash Unit is in attendance.
