Dame Kiri Te Kanawa receives top honour from Prince Charles

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa became a Member of the Order of the Companions of Honour overnight in London.

The Kiwi opera singer received the Order from Prince Charles at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace today.

A picture of the 74-year-old was posted to the Royal Family Facebook page.

Alongside her receiving the Honour was boxer Anthony Joshua, former Northern Island Women’s Football captain Sara Booth and equestrian William Fox-Pitt.
