Serious injuries reported after multi-car crash on large Canterbury bridge

Emergency services are attending the scene of a two-car crash at Main South Road on Rakaia Bridge, Selwyn.

Police were called about 11.25am and say initial reports suggest there may be serious injuries.

The road is expected to be obstructed for some time, and traffic management is being put in place.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
