The Silver Ferns' have climbed to second place in the world rankings.
Having fallen to third in the world rankings for the first time in history earlier this year, the Silver Ferns have moved back to second behind Australia, following Commonwealth Games gold medallists England being swept 3-0 in their recent Sunshine Series with Jamaica.
Jamaica's Sunshine Girls have also made history by moving to third in the world for the very first time, while England drop to fourth.
Only one ranking point separates New Zealand (173) from Jamaica and England (both 172).
The Australian Diamonds still keep hold of their spot as world number one, 28 points ahead of the Silver Ferns.
