Visit a small King Country school that’s sadly closing for good

The end of the school year marks the end of the line for the tiny Mapiu School, halfway between Taumarunui and Te Kuiti. 

After 107 years' service to the King Country community, the primary school's roll numbers no longer stack up.

Seven Sharp reporter Michael Holland heads to the school for the last prizegiving which doubles as a formal ceremony to mark the school's closure next week.
