Young Auckland Tuatara pitcher Kyle Glogoski's season is over after the club decided they would not hand him another start for the remainder of the season due to fatigue.

The 19-year-old Kiwi has been brilliant for the Tuatara in their first ABL season, posting a 1-1 record alongside 18 strikeouts and a 1.37 earned run average over 19.2 innings of work.

In his four starts, he allowed just nine hits and three runs to be scored against him.

However, the Tuatara revealed after their heavy 7-1 loss to the Sydney Blue Sox on Saturday Glogoski has been struggling with fatigue and tightness, leading to their decision not to pitch him again for the remainder of the season.

Glogoski joined the Kiwi club after being given permission by his MLB franchise, the Philadelphia Phillies - but only on the condition of a 25-inning pitching limit.

The limit was introduced after Glogoski's heavy work load pitching for the franchise's Gulf Coast League team in the minor leagues.

"I appreciate the Tuatara being so careful with me. I'm not injured but my arm is definitely starting to feel tired," Glogoski said.

"It is frustrating not to be there for my final start and help the boys out but it has been a big season for me and I need to think long-term."

Glogoski will not travel with the team to Australia next week for their series with fellow ABL newcomers Geelong-Korea, instead staying in New Zealand to spend time with family before heading back to the US for Spring Training with the Phillies.

"I'll keep working out every day but I won't throw for a few weeks. I will be good to go for spring training."

The loss of Glogoski capped a rough weekend for the Tuatara, who were swept at home by the Blue Sox after yesterday's 3-1 loss.

The series sweep sees the Auckland club fall to 4-11 for the season so far to sit last in the Northeast division, six wins behind division leaders the Brisbane Bandits.
