One person has died after a crash on State Highway 3 in Taranaki near Inglewood.

The two-vehicle crash on Mountain Road, south-east of New Plymouth, was reported at about 6.30am

Diversions are in place but motorists are asked to avoid the area with the Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
