Suspicious fire at old retirement home in Timaru

A fire at an old retirement home last night in Timaru is being treated as suspicious.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson says the old retirement home, Saint Vianney Home of Compassion, was empty at the time of the blaze which was reported at 10.20pm.

No one was injured in the blaze.

A specialist fire investigator will be on site at the scene today.
