Man fighting for life after two attacked outside Hawera pub

One man has life-threatening injuries and another serious injuries after they were assaulted outside a pub in Hawera.

Police say a 29-year-old man was critically injured and a 24-year-old man was seriously injured in the incident outside the White Hart Hotel  at 10.20pm on Friday.

The 29-year-old remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are appealing to the public for information on the serious assault.
