Watch: Michaela Blyde dedicates Women's Sevens Player of the Year award to fellow nominee Sarah Goss

November 26, 2018

Michaela Blyde has pipped her fellow Black Ferns Sevens sisters to win the Women's Sevens Player of the Year award at this year's World Rugby awards in Monte Carlo.

Blyde took out the award for a second time after she was nominated alongside Sarah Goss and Portia Woodman.

After accepting the award, Blyde said she wanted to dedicate it to her captain instead.

"I want to say a massive congratulations over there to my sister, Sarah Goss," she said.

"I've looked up to Sarah since day one, since 2012, not just because she's taller than me but because she is a leader of the game, not just in our team but in the game in general.

"She's one of those players I strive to be like in the future so this is 100 per cent for you, sis."

With the win, Blyde defends her title from 2017.
