Seven people injured after two-car collision on SH1 between Foxton and Levin

Seven people have been injured after a two-car crash in Manawatu this afternoon.

Emergency services, including four ambulances and a helicopter, were called to the scene after two cars collided at the intersection of SH1 and Koputaroa Road at around 12.20pm, a Fire and Emergency spokesperson told 1 NEWS. 

Three people received serious injuries in the crash.

Four others received minor to moderate injuries. 

All patients have since been airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.

Diversions are in place and motorists have been advised to avoid the area if possible.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
