Auckland rugby have acquired the services of high school teenage star Niko Jones, with the St Peters first XV flanker signing a two-year deal with the province.
Niko is the son of All Blacks great Sir Michael Jones.
"I've decided that I will be staying in Auckland for the next couple of years," said Niko.
"I've signed with them, that's really exciting, I'm happy just to be home."
Niko has also signed with the All Blacks Sevens after leading St Peters College to their first national first XV title earlier this year.
"My main focus is the sevens, being down there but when I come up I will focus on my rugby in Auckland."
Niko said there was offers from other provinces for his signature.
"There was no pressure, he (Sir Michael) just wanted what was best for me and there was no pressure at all.
"When I came to the final decision I was at peace and I was happy about it."

Niko says there will be opportunities for him to train with the Blues but for now he's concentrating on the shorter form of the game.
"The main focus is the sevens but there is links with the Blues, but my main focus is the sevens."
It is a big boost for the Auckland province after winning the NPC Mitre 10 Cup Premiership title last month against Canterbury.
Sir Michael Jones played for Auckland his whole rugby career from 1985-1999.
