A wild South Australian storm has torn roofs from buildings and downed trees, leaving many without power.
Surinder Kumar and his pregnant wife were watching TV last night when the ceiling above their heads took off in the winds, according to 9 News.
"It was just sudden... there was a crack here and then it was off," he said.
"We don't have a home, we don't have things to use and we don't have a place to go."
The roof sheets, a large frame and an air conditioner ended up showering neighbour Brenton Nayda’s home.
"It was just like an explosion. If you can imagine a bomb going off," Mr Nayda said.
Power was cut to more than 100,000 homes and businesses and the State Emergency Service responded to more than 1200 calls for help as the winds lashed the state.
