A scorned lover in the United Arab Emirates has confessed, police say, to butchering her missing partner and cooking his remains into a traditional dish that she then fed to neighbours.
The case unravelled after the man's brother visited the couple's home looking for him and found a tooth in the blender, UAE news outlet The National has reported.
The woman initially denied foul play, saying she hadn't seen the missing man since kicking him out of their home. But she was arrested after a DNA test confirmed that the tooth belonged to her boyfriend, authorities said.
She later admitted to killing, dismembering and cooking the man during a moment of "insanity" when he attempted to break up with her to marry his cousin, Gulf News reports.
After mincing his flesh in the blender, the woman said she cooked machboos - a rice dish popular in the United Arab Emirates similar to biryani.
Leftovers not eaten by workers who lived nearby were fed to neighbourhood dogs, prosecutors said.
