College gridiron player uses brutal sideline collision with reporter as chance to ask her out on date

A college American football player who was involved in an accidental collision with a sideline reporter last weekend has used the meeting of sorts to ask the woman out on a date.

Laura Rutledge was reporting from the sidelines of the Georgia game last weekend when she was on the receiving end of a tough hit by Bulldogs running back Prather Hudson as he was bundled out of play.

Rutledge was able to laugh about the incident, posting on Twitter, which is where Hudson replied.

"Hey @LauraMRutledge really sorry I knocked you down but... I can pick you up at 7," he wrote cheekily.
