Pedestrian dies after being hit by truck north of Auckland

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a truck north of Auckland.

The collision happened in Whangaripo, near Wellsford, around 6.20am.

The victim died at the scene, and the driver was not hurt.

The road is expected to be closed for some time. 

Also this morning, a man suffered critical head injuries after being hit by a car in the Ranui Domain in West Auckland.

Police are speaking with the driver.
