A late dumping of spring snow in the South Island has been welcomed by a happy young Brisbane tourist in Queenstown for his aunty's wedding.
The Rotolone family weren't expecting to have a literal white wedding when they booked a Lake Hayes winery for their late spring wedding.
However, eight-year-old Harvey Rotolone was overjoyed to experience snow for the first time on the family trip.
"It's really cool and it's the first time I've seen snow," he told 1 NEWS.

Harvey said he had been "having snowball fights, playing and eating snow" on the last day of his holiday.
The unseasonal weather has seen flights cancelled from Queenstown Airport, left multiple areas without power and the ski fields are being blanketed with snow as the South Island is hit by a mid-winter storm in November.
A number of Air New Zealand flights have been cancelled, while one from Jetstar has been delayed.
Multiple pockets of outages across Central Otago are being reported, though it is not clear just how many properties are affected.
Mt Hutt had 15cm of snow while Coronet Peak was also treated to a good dumping.
