Man, 19, to appear in court after fatal Christchurch crash

A 19-year-old man has been charged following a fatal crash in Christchurch last Friday.

T he man had been fleeing police with passengers in the car when the vehicle crashed on Gloucester Street at 11.15pm.

An 18-year-old woman died in the crash.
Three other occupants, all male, were taken to hospital.

The man has was arrested and faces charges of manslaughter, failing to stop or ascertain injury, failing to stop for police, and three counts of recklessly causing injury.

He will appear in Christchurch District Court this morning.
