Waikato coach Jono Gibbes was coy on the prospect of bringing star winger Sevu Reece to French club La Rochelle with him next season, with the explosive winger's future seemingly unclear.
Reece, 21, had his impending deal with Irish side Connacht terminated earlier this month, following his appearance in the Hamilton District Court on an assault charge, before being discharged without conviction.
Despite that though, Reece is currently the outstanding player in New Zealand provincial rugby, leading the Mitre 10 Cup in tries scored (12), defenders beaten, clean breaks and offloads.
Speaking to media ahead of Waikato's Mitre 10 Cup Championship final against Otago on Saturday, coach Gibbes made it clear that Reece would be an idea signing for any club, in either hemisphere.
"Certainly, a player like that will get snapped up for sure," Gibbes began.
"He might be pretty attractive to a Super Rugby team the way he's performed so far.
"His performances have been right on the money."
