“(It) would be great to have someone else next to me to share the pressure.”

Three years ago during a stop on Stewart Island, Prince Harry gave a personal and candid interview with Sky News UK about his desire to share his load with a future spouse.

“Tours like this are great fun - hopefully I’m doing alright by myself - (but ) it would be great to have someone else next to me to share the pressure,” the told the British network.

In the rare interview during his first tour down under, Prince Harry also spoke about his plans to have children.

“There comes a time where you’re like, ‘Now’s the time to settle down,’ or, ‘Now’s not’. You can’t force these things, they’re going to happen when they happen.

“Of course, I would love to have kids right now, but there’s a process one has to go through.”

Now about to embark on his second tour of New Zealand, the newly minted Duke of Sussex is bringing his new pregnant wife to these shores.

The Duchess of Sussex is no stranger to New Zealand, having toured the South Island back in 2014, a year before her husband’s first trip here.

The pair will have a whirlwind four-day tour to our shores, jam-packed with engagements.

From the moment they get off the plane with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and the New Zealand Invictus team in Wellington on Sunday, the royal couple will be inundated with events.

These events include naming kiwi chicks, dinners, unveilings, and two walkabouts in Auckland and Rotorua where the public will have a chance to meet the couple.

The duchess was unable to attend a small number of events in Australia due to her pregnancy.

1 NEWS will have full coverage of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s tour of New Zealand.
