Newly-surfaced video of the Indonesia tsunami that struck the coastal city of Palu last month has given a rare insight into the devastation and destruction it caused.
Reuters reports Sigit Lembah shot the video from a a balcony he and many others where using for refuge after a 7.5 magnitude quake struck Sulawesi island on September 28.
Mr Lembah said he along with two friends were heading to the annual Palu Nomoni Festival on Talise beach when the tremor struck.
The trio looked to start running towards higher ground and initially went towards Ponulele Yellow Bridge but when they saw the first wave coming, changed their minds immediately.
It may have been a life-saving decision as the bridge later collapsed under the force of the tsunami.
On Monday, the official death toll rose to 1,948 but emergency services are still recovering bodies.
Indonesia's national disaster agency says up to 5,000 are still missing.
