Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov fans broke out into street fights and rioted in Las Vegas yesterday following the shocking UFC 229 melee after the lightweight championship bout.
Nurmagomedov jumped the octagon fence, attacking one of McGregor's cornermen Dillon Danis, after the Russian defeated McGregor by submission in the fourth round.
Two of Khabib's teammates also invaded the octagon and threw punches at McGregor after the bout.
Former UFC heavyweight fighter Brendan Schaub predicted ugly scenes to pan out no matter who won the MMA title fight, days before the championship bout.
He told UFC commentator Joe Rogan on his podcast Powerful JRE last week that he would not attend the event in fear that violence will break out among the passionate Russian and Irish fans.
"I think something's going to happen in the crowd between the Russians and the Irish," Schaub told Rogan.
"Just the animosity between the two, they hate each other so bad.
"If it happens for Conor you’re going to have upset Russians if it happens for Khabib you’re going to have upset Irish. It’s gotten bigger than just a UFC fight, its so hostile.’"
Schaub, 35, has a MMA record of 10 wins and five losses.
He retired from fighting in the UFC in 2014 following his loss to Travis Browne.
