Simon Mannering joins Kiwi Ferns as team trainer - 'Hopefully I can help the girls!'

Retired Warriors legend Simon Mannering is back in Kiwis colours but this time as a trainer for the women's team.

The former Kiwis captain met most of the Kiwi Ferns for the first time today.

Kiwi Ferns fullback Apii Nicholls says it's a welcome boost ahead of their Test against the Jillaroos.

“I’m really glad that he’s here to share his experience and his skill and knowledge.”

Mannering said he’s just happy to help however he can.

“Get the water bottles out to the girls, get the cones out,” he said.

“Hopefully I can help the girls in some way, in their preparation for the game.

While he's happy setting up cones, he's adamant a switch to coaching one day isn't his cup of tea.
