A 37-year-old New Zealand man has reportedly has died in a base-jumping accident in Switzerland, reports from Swiss police say.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday afternoon local time (Friday morning NZT), saw three people attempt a jump at Stockhorn using wingsuits, in the Bernese Alps.
But the man encountered difficulties in his descent, falling into rough terrain.
An investigation has been opened under the direction of the Oberland Regional Public Prosecutor to clarify the exact course and circumstances of the accident.
