It was a sight worthy of tears for many wine aficionados.
Video of an Italian winery's over-filled prosecco fermentation tank blowing its lid, spilling out 30,000 litres of the coveted beverage, has circulated around the world this week.
The winery's loss equates to about 400,000 bottles, and countless mimosas.
The video of the spill has been viewed over 1.3 million times on Facebook, with hundreds of commenters mourning the loss - and imagining what they would have done had they been there when it occurred.
"The report would be, 'Shane died doing what he loved the most', attempting to drink a 100,000 litre bottle of wine," one Facebook user joked, while another suggested to her friends they need to "pack up rubber dingys and long straws and find this place".
While tragic, there's no reason for lovers of bubbles to panic.
A bumper crop this year should result in around 600 million bottles of prosecco hitting shelves.
