It appears All Blacks midfielders Jack Goohue and Sonny Bill Williams are forming a strong bond off the pitch, as the pair gave each other stick during today's press conference in Pretoria.
Both players have been named to start in the midfield against the Springboks this Sunday at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, in their Rugby Championship match against South Africa.
Williams, 33, told reporters that his teammate had good chat on the field, but wasn't so sure it was any good off the pitch.
"On the field yes off the field, questionable," said Williams.
Goodhue, 23, told reporters since being in the All Blacks environment he had improved dramatically.
"I do my best, obviously Sonny is an intimidating guy but I believe I have come a long way in the chat perspective," said Goodhue.
"Sonny's taken me under his wing with that and I appreciate all the help.
"Hopefully if we continue this relationship…"
Williams interrupted midway through Goodhue's sentence to suggest his rookie teammate was also reading other types of books to improve his chat.
"Do you want to tell them about that book you just finished? The best pick-up lines," said Williams.
Goodhue was quick to fire back with a comeback of his own, telling reporters who offered him the pick-up lines book.
"Is that the one you gave me?" responded Goodhue.
Williams laughed off the response from his centre partner and was quick to change the subject.
"Okay next question," said Williams.
The two All Blacks stars will be only starting together in the midfield for a second time, since their first outing together in the centres against France in Dunedin during the June Test series.
