All Blacks prop Karl Tu'inukuafe 'hyped up' for scrums ahead of Springboks 'challenge'

All Blacks prop Karl Tu'inukuafe has agreed with his front row partner Codie Taylor, saying he is always "hyped" up for a scrum battle.

Ahead of this Sunday's Pretoria Test against the Springboks, the 25-year-old prop also admitted that playing big Tests takes it's toll on the lungs.

He said All Blacks hooker Taylor's assessment of him was on point.

"That's pretty accurate, the blowing part especially," said Tu'inukuafe.

"But when it comes to scrums I don't know, I just get hyped up.

"Always love a good challenge and these guys (Springboks) have been one of the biggest challenges, definitely looking forward to it."

Tu'inukuafe made his debut for the All Blacks in June during the France Test series and will bring up his ninth Test cap against South Africa this weekend.
