Alien Weaponry lead the way as Vodafone NZ Music Awards nominations announced

Kiwi Te Reo Māori hard rockers Alien Weaponry are up for a number of awards at this year's Vodafone NZ Music Awards.

The metal act have four nominations, including being up for the coveted Album of the Year award for Tū.

They will have stiff competition for the Album of the Year and Best Group awards from Six60, who have recently become the first Kiwi act to sell out Auckland's Western Springs.

The Kiwi group have sold 50,000 tickets to their concert. (Source: Other)

The awards take place on Thursday, November 15 at Auckland's Spark Arena.
