One person dead after two vehicle crash in West Auckland

One person has died after a two vehicle crash in West Auckland this afternoon.

Police say the crash happened on Waitakere Road just after 4pm today.

One person died at the scene and another person received moderate injuries.

Diversions are in place at the intersection of Hunter and Waitakere Roads and Waitakere and Bethells Roads.

Police advise motorists to avoid the area if possible.

The Serious Crash Unit will investigate.
