One person in critical condition after two-vehicle crash in Taranaki

One person has been critically injured after a two-vehicle crash on Taranaki's State Highway 3A this evening.

The incident occurred after a car and truck collided on the highway, also known as Mountain Road, at Waiongana, north of Inglewood, just before 8pm.

A woman, the sole occupant of the car, has been airlifted to hospital.

Diversions are in place SH 3A at Inglewood, and SH 3A further north at Manutahi Road and Davis Road.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
