Man charged with murder over fatal shooting of woman in Otorohanga

A man has been charged with murder over the fatal shooting of woman in Otorohanga last week.

Police say a 57-year-old man was today charged with the murder of 50-year-old Leigh Wallace, who was killed at a house on Otewa Road, Otorohanga, just before 8pm on Friday August 31.

The charge was laid by police in the Hamilton District Court, although the man did not appear in court today.

Police have not named the man that has been charged and a team of detectives continue to work on the case.
