Queenstown tourist turns to social media in hopes of finding lost engagement ring

September 6, 2018

A British woman and her fiance were in Queenstown for a ski holiday when she lost her engagement ring in the women's toilets last month.

Ruth Bamber and fiance James Sutcliffe were at The Remarkables ski field in Queenstown on August 30 when she left her engagement ring on the shelf above sinks in the women's toilets.

The couple had gotten engaged last June in Thailand, during a trip around the world.

Ms Bamber has since appealed on social media in hopes of finding her beloved ring.

On Monday, she tweeted, "LOST ENGAGEMENT RING - can Twitter save the day? Lost at Remarkables Ski Area, Queenstown, NZ -30 AUG 2018. Left on the shelf above sinks in ladies toilet. Please reunite! Can 6 degrees of separation help here?"

On the day itself, Ms Bamber noticed her ring wasn't on when she put on her ski gloves, and upon running back to the toilet it was nowhere to be found.

So far the post has received over 1000 retweets, sending the two support.

The couple are bound to leave the country in the next few weeks, and urge people to give the ring to Queenstown police if found.
