MP Meka Whaitiri has returned to Parliament for the first time since she stood down amid an allegation she assaulted a staff member.
She was in Parliament today for the third reading of the Wairoa Treaty Settlement.
Ms Whaitiri stood down as Customs Minister last week over what 1 NEWS understands is an allegation of assault on a staff member levelled against her.
"I'm cooperating fully with the investigation. I've got no further comment," she told media. "I am here as the MP for Ikaroa-Rāwhiti."
Ministerial services are undertaking the investigation but there's no date yet on when it will be completed.
