Boy, 12, and three teens charged over robbery of Hastings liquor store that left worker with serious injuries

Three teenagers and a twelve-year-old boy have been charged over the aggravated robbery of a Hastings liquor store that left a store attendant with serious injuries.

Big Barrel on Maraekakaho Road was robbed at around 7pm on Monday.

Police say two males, aged 17 and 18, and a 15-year-old female have been charged with aggravated robbery.

Police charged a fourth person - a 12-year-old boy over the aggravated robbery.

The 18-year-old male is now also charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The four people charged will be appearing in court in Hastings today.

A person working at the store sustained serious injuries during the robbery and remains in Hawke’s Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
