One person dies in hospital after north Auckland crash

August 29, 2018


A person has died in hospital following a two-car crash on State Highway 16 at Waimauku north of Auckland this evening.

The crash happened at around 5.15pm near McPike Road.

Three people were airlifted to Auckland Hospital - two in a critical condition and one in moderate condition.

Police say one of those in a critical condition has since died.

The highway remains closed with diversions in place at Kiwitahi Road and Waimauku Station Road.
