An attempted phone scammer got more than he bargained for when he called the NZ police
The man reached Dan from the northern communication centre, but not realising who he had called, tried to convince him he was from Spark and that there was an issue with his internet connection and security.
Dan wasn’t fooled, however.
“Well, you’ve called the New Zealand Police so I’d be very surprised if our internet wasn’t secure,” Dan said.

After realising who he was speaking to, “Greg” ended the call quickly.
“Okay, I’m sorry to bother you.”
