August 27, 2018

An interview with the victim of a burglary in the US has gone viral, after the man animatedly told a news crew about the items allegedly stolen from him by his cousin.

Mason Tackett, from Floyd County, Kentucky, appeared on MYMT Mountain News last week after allegedly finding his cousin in the middle of robbing his house.

Mr Tackett told a reporter that he rushed home after neighbours tipped him off that someone was taking items from his house.

"It looked like he was packing up for a yard sale when he come out," Mr Tackett said of his confrontation with his cousin.

Mr Tackett said the incident escalated and a gun was then pointed at him.

The alleged offender was arrested by police and charged with receiving stolen property and being a convicted felon with a firearm.

Mr Tackett then launched into a passionate explanation of the items his cousin was allegedly trying to steal from him.

"Who steals a cheese grater?!" he said holding up the item to the news crew.

"He stole my soap - who steals soap!?" he continued.

The interview has gained online notoriety since being posted to YouTube and Reddit on Friday.

"I live in Floyd County, lmao this happens too often," one person commented on the YouTube post.

The alleged offender will face court this week.
