One commentator is calling him the best half in the competition right now but Warriors playmaker Shaun Johnson isn't having a bar of it.
Instead, teammates and staff reckon he's turning into a bit of a ball hog.
The 27-year-old was on fire in the Warriors' 36-16 demolition of the Panthers at Mount Smart Stadium last Friday leading NRL commentator Greg Alexander to say he "showed us once again why he's the most talented halfback in the game".
But Johnson is shaking off the praise.
"I don't listen to what people have to say about how I'm going," he said.
"I talk to the people within our four walls at the Warriors and as long as I'm heading in the right direction which I feel like I am... I've learned to just worry about the things that matter which is the boys, the coaching staff and improving each week."
Johnson collected 12 points with the boot in the win over Penrith while running for 127m and assisting David Fusitu'a in scoring a hat trick.
But despite the top performance, he said coaching staff had a word to him after the game.
"The whole year, I've been told to run the ball more and after the game I got I was greedy and a ball hog!"
Johnson and the Warriors play the Raiders on Friday night in their final round robin game before the NRL playoffs at Mount Smart Stadium at 8pm.
