Tohu Harris' importance to the Warriors' hopes of a maiden NRL crown have been underlined once again, as the back rower put in a phenomenal display on his return to the side in the 36-16 win over Penrith on Friday.

Having not played since the 18-15 Round 16 loss to the Sharks back in June, Harris returned from a knee injury in style, cementing his position as one of the NRL's best as the side sealed their first finals berth since 2011.

The imposing back rower led the way in a number of stats in Friday's win, coming away with a game-high 161 running metres, despite only featuring for 68 minutes.

Harris also managed 61 metres post-contact, as well as making a whopping 29 tackles.

Coach Stephen Kearney beamed over Harris' return, lavishing him with plaudits in his post match press conference.

"Yeah he was pretty good wasn't he?," Kearney said post match.

"That's the expectation from him. Someone asked me earlier on in the week how long he'd play coming off of that injury but the one thing about Big T is he's very efficient with his energy.

"He walks around very slowly during the day so, I reckon he must save all his energy for out on the footy field."

Harris and the Warriors will next be in action in their final regular season match against the Raiders at Mt Smart Stadium this Friday.
