The Breakfast team paid tribute to popular TVNZ journalist and presenter Greg Boyed, who died in Switzerland this week.
Presenters Hayley Holt, Jack Tame, Daniel Faitaua and Matty Mclean sat together this morning and shared their fond memories of him.
"Depression is something that affects way too many people in this country, and Greg's death reminds us that depression doesn't discriminate," says Hayley.
"For someone who was struggling and obviously battling with his own demons, one enduring thing that I heard people around TVNZ talk about yesterday was just what a kind and caring guy Greg was," says Matty.
"He was always the one that was encouraging, making sure everyone was OK and looking after people, giving them advice and help.
"He was such a lovely man, it's sad to think he was struggling on his own.
"Greg was a mentor but also had this witty and charismatic sense of humour," says Daniel.
"He would give everything a go...Greg was just down-to-earth.
"These demons are a reminder to us all to check in on everyone," he says.
"If the last day has reminded us of anything, they're simple things. Like life is really fickle so try to savour the little joys everyday," says Jack.
"Ask for help and please tell people you love them."
