Wanted Tauranga man believed to have changed his appearance as he eludes police

Police believe a Tauranga man they're seeking over gun, drug and driving charges has changed his appearance as he tries to avoid officers.

Tauranga Police have warrants for the arrest of 37-year-old Brendan Steve Allan for failing to appear in the Tauranga District Court last Thursday, August 16.

Allan is facing charges over possession of a pistol, possession of methamphetamine and disqualified driving.

Police believe Allan is actively trying to avoid them and has altered his appearance in the last week by shaving off his beard and long hair. 

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Turner said Allan should not be approached and anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts should immediately ring the Police.
