‘He doesn’t want to be labelled the sick child’ – the young boy not letting cystic fibrosis get in the way of his love of sports

Meeting Bruno Cettina it would be hard to tell this 12-year-old who loves sport is suffering from a chronic illness.

Bruno suffers from cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening disorder that damages the lungs and digestive system.

Cystic fibrosis is inherited and both of Bruno's parents carried the gene which cases cystic fibrosis.

Bruno has a rigorous daily routine which involves finger pricking, taking insulin and physio.

But that doesn't faze young Bruno.

Tagata Pasifika reporter Soana 'Aholelei met the young boy from Auckland who doesn't let his illness get in the way of his love of sport.
