Woman dies after clothing becomes tangled up with her mobility scooter in Tauranga

A woman has died in Tauranga after an item of clothing became tangled up with her mobility scooter.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Gravatt Road shortly before 10am today.

The woman lost consciousness after of an item of clothing was caught in a wheel and despite the best efforts of people nearby, she couldn’t be revived, police said in a statement.

The death has been referred to the coroner.
