Tauranga City Council have reached a settlement with one owner of a property in the failed Bella Vista subdivision, the council said today in a statement.

In March, homeowners in the Lakes development were evicted due to council concerns about the construction and inspection of the homes.

The Council has since agreed to take ownership of the property in exchange for paying the owner of the property all wasted expenditure.

The terms of the settlement have remained private but the parties involved have worked to reach a resolution which allows the owner to move on from Bella Vista.
