In a classic case of put your money where your mouth is, rival boxing promoters David Higgins and Eddie Hearn have themselves a five-figure bet, wagering £20,000 ($39,000) on the winner of this weekend's heavyweight clash between Joseph Parker and Dillian Whyte.
As the two fighters met face-to-face for the pre-fight press conference this morning, the two promoters were goaded into the wager by undercard fighter, Dereck Chisora.
"I think Eddie (Hearn) and this guy (Higgins) should have a bet," Chisora said.
"One-hundred grand bet on your fighters, you should shake on it right now."
Higgins initially resisted, stating he doesn't have a spare £100,000 to his name.
The prize was then lowered to £50,000, before dropping again to £20,000 - to which the pair agreed, shaking hands to confirm the bet.
Chisora was then asked which of the two he'd put his money on, with the Brit cheekily retorting:
"I'm a born again (Christian), I don't gamble."
Parker and Whyte face off on Sunday morning NZT.
