Aussie man travelling in ute with boy, 8, busted by police with $10 million worth of methamphetamine

A man travelling with an eight-year-old boy in regional NSW is behind bars after allegedly being busted with 20 kilograms of ice (methamphetamine) worth more than $10 million in his ute.

The 38-year-old man from South Australia was stopped at Balranald in the NSW Riverina on Monday evening with officers allegedly finding 15kg of methylamphetamine in the back of his ute.

A further 5kg of the drug was found in bags inside the vehicle, NSW Police said in a statement today.

The man's been charged with supplying a large commercial quantity of drugs and possessing prohibited drugs. He was due to face Wentworth Local Court on Tuesday.

The young boy is being cared for by a government agency.
