Strong 4.6 magnitude quakes hits Te Kaha in Bay of Plenty overnight

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake overnight hit Te Kaha in the Bay of Plenty.

The quake described as strong by GeoNet struck at 10.23pm.

The quake struck within 5km of Te Kaha, roughly 200km north-east of Rotorua, and was 4km deep, according to GeoNet.

Around 600 people had reported feeling the shake on the website.
