Sam Whitelock is a man of many hats.

One moment he's captaining the All Blacks, the next he's playing dad.

The Crusaders lock was spotted at his captain's run at Wellington's Westpac Stadium today taking time out from training and interviews to get some quality dad time in ahead of tomorrow's second Test against France.

The stand-in skipper said his team doesn't read into things as much as people may hope. (Source: Other)

Whitelock said after playing with Read for so long, the Crusaders pair knows what the other is thinking. (Source: Other)

Whitelock has been filling in as skipper for the side with regular captain Kieran Read still recovering from a back surgery.
